About

A recipe book that does the arithmetic for you. Pick how many people you are cooking for and every amount rewrites itself. Turn the week's meals into one grocery list, sorted the way you walk a store. CHANGE THE SERVINGS, CHANGE THE AMOUNTS Take a recipe written for two and cook it for three: 300 g becomes 450 g, 2 tbsp becomes 3 tbsp. Awkward results stay measurable — you get "1 1/3 tbsp", not "1.33 tbsp". Units tidy themselves up too: 3 tsp becomes 1 tbsp, 1200 g becomes 1.2 kg. "A pinch" and "to taste" are never multiplied. A GROCERY LIST SORTED BY AISLE Pick a range — today, three days, a week — and the app gathers every ingredient and merges the duplicates. Two recipes calling for soy sauce become one line with the total. The default order is produce, fish, meat, chilled, dairy, seasoning, dry goods, but every store is laid out differently, so you can drag the sections into your store's order. Staples you always have at home can be excluded so they never show up. WHAT CAN I MAKE WITH THIS? Type in a few things left in the fridge and get recipes that use them, plus what you would still need to buy. Seasonings are assumed to be on hand. OUT OF MIRIN? A substitution reference with about 30 entries, including how the result changes. WHICH ONE FIRST? Cooking two or more dishes in a day? The app orders them so the ones with the longest hands-off time start first. PASTE INGREDIENTS IN ONE GO Paste a list of ingredients, one per line, and each line is split into a name and an amount — "onion 1", "soy sauce 2 tbsp". COOK MODE THAT SURVIVES THE KITCHEN One step at a time in large type, with the screen locked awake so you are not poking at it with wet hands. The ingredients mentioned in that step appear right beneath it, already scaled. Text size adjusts on the spot. AS MANY TIMERS AS YOU NEED Simmer one pot while another comes to the boil. Start a timer from any step, run several at once, and keep seeing them from any screen. Notifications fire even if the app is closed. BOUGHT ONCE, THAT IS ALL No in-app purchases. No subscription. No ads, no third-party tracking. No account to create and no network requests at all — your recipes live on your device. 100 RECIPES INCLUDED Ten categories of Japanese home cooking. You start with eight staples already in your book, and add whatever else you want from the picker under "+", after previewing what is in each one. Every recipe was written for this app, and you can edit any of them. BRINGING IN RECIPES FROM ELSEWHERE "+" also opens the major recipe sites in Safari. Save the ones you like with "Enter manually". This app never bundles or redistributes anyone else's recipes. A short walkthrough opens the first time you launch the app, with a live serving-size demo you can try right there. You can revisit it from Settings whenever you like. --- Sauna Inc. Support: https://tokyo357.com/support Privacy: https://tokyo357.com/privacyRead more
