About
Epistemis is your medical study companion: guides, a real-image atlas and clinical tools in a single app that works OFFLINE. Built for medical students and for anyone preparing board exams (USMLE Step 1 and Step 2, MIR, ENARM), and useful on the ward too. GUIDES AND REVIEW • 764 guides across 40 subjects, each with three depth levels (Essential, Intermediate, Complete): the same guide adapts to whether you are in a hurry or want the detail. • 16,271 flashcards with spaced repetition (FSRS) and Anki deck import. The optimizer retunes the algorithm using your own history, on your device. • 48 guided study paths, mnemonics across 30 areas and branching clinical cases where your decisions change the outcome. • Highlighting, personal notes and a typo-tolerant search. EXAM PRACTICE • 5,103 board-style questions (2,288 MIR, 1,276 Step 1, 1,539 Step 2) with reasoning for every option, not just the correct one. 100% carry an explanation and no subject has fewer than 25. • 556 questions now show the radiograph, ECG or plate the stem talks about, taken from the app's own atlas. • Timed block exams with per-area reports and a performance curve. • More than 5,000 subject review questions, plus a mistakes notebook that brings them back when it matters. • Compare yourself with the cohort: submit a mock score —just the score— and see your percentile. Optional and off by default. REAL IMAGES AND SOUNDS • 6,803 real pieces with a teaching layer: 4,094 ECGs, 1,238 radiographs, 353 histology, 284 gross pathology, 168 dermatology, 114 anatomy plates, 38 auscultation sounds and 508 more across eight areas. Every case carries provenance, licence and an integrity fingerprint, and its editorial status is recorded in the atlas catalogue. • 38 real heart and lung auscultation sounds and layered 3D anatomy. • Every image shows its source and license. CLINICAL TOOLS • 317 calculators and scores across 27 specialties (CKD-EPI 2021, Cockcroft-Gault, CHA2DS2-VASc, Child-Pugh, NEWS2, Wells, qSOFA and more), always showing the formula and its reference. • Drug reference with 372 drugs across 21 systems, drug interactions and renal dose adjustment. • Differential diagnosis by clinical presentation, including the can't-miss diagnoses. • 34 interactive decision algorithms, lab values, a 9,659-term glossary and 1,082 symptoms with their red flags. • Emergency, consultation and OSCE station simulators. CLIO, YOUR AI TUTOR • Ask your guides: Clio answers from the app's own content and CITES where each statement comes from. • Analyzes images (an ECG, a radiograph, a lab report) and walks you through a systematic reading, step by step — up to three images per question. • Clinical Clio reasons through a case separating data, inference and uncertainty, and an audit checks it does not cite what does not exist. • Included when you sign in, with an allowance. You can also bring your own Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini key, with no limit. EVIDENCE AND RESEARCH • Source library, on-device PDF reading, PICO projects and reproducible PubMed queries. • Interpretation of RR, OR, HR, CI, ARR and NNT, plus a sensitivity/specificity and predictive-value lab. YOUR PROGRESS, WITH YOU • Works offline, always. An account is optional. • Questions and guide corrections arrive without waiting for a new app version. • With an account, your notes, cards and progress sync across devices and merge without losing anything. • No ads. No trackers. Your data is never sold or shared. — Disclaimer: Epistemis is educational and review material.
