About

Promptly is for the line you would never open a notes app for. One field, always ready. Nothing to decide before you write. Press send and it is filed: right notebook, right day, the end of the day's notes. It goes where you left off, or you name one with @ as you type. There is no note to title and nothing to tidy. Then, when it matters, Promptly turns any notebook, person or subject into a prompt you can paste into any AI chat. Every name is held back, the whole text is shown to you first, and nothing leaves your phone until you press Copy. There is no account and no server. Answers are worked out on your phone by the model that comes with iOS. Turn on aeroplane mode and the app still works, because there is nowhere for any of it to go. WRITING One field, always ready. Open the app and the caret is already there, pointed at the notebook you were last in. Say where it goes with @ for a notebook and # for a topic, or leave it and it goes where you were last writing. Notes are separate things. Six lines during a meeting are six notes, not one paragraph, so any of them can be found, moved or answered from on its own. Rename a topic once and it is renamed everywhere it was ever used. MAKE A PROMPT Pick what it is for: catch me up, what is still open, draft the follow-up, prep me for next time, or just the notes. Read the whole thing before it goes. This is the one screen that prepares your writing to leave, so it shows you the text itself rather than a description of it. Names come out. People become Person A, notebooks become Notebook A, and the key stays here. It is never part of what you copy. Promptly never talks to an AI itself, so it needs no account, no subscription and no trust. READING Days assemble themselves into a document, grouped by date and topic, with a quiet break where you stopped writing and started again. Topics cut across notebooks and folders, so a subject you wrote about at work and at home is one subject. A timeline of everything, and a calendar to jump to any day with a note on it. Ask a question and get an answer, with the notes it came from listed underneath so you can check every word. THINGS ONLY THIS APP DOES Share a screenshot and it comes apart into separate notes, one per message, with who said it. If the picture says Tuesday, the notes file themselves on Tuesday. A note knows the day it belongs to separately from the day it was typed, which is why a screenshot taken on Friday can refill your Tuesday. Talk, and watch notes appear as you speak. Every time you pause, the sentence you just finished becomes its own note, filed and ready. Two minutes of talking is three or four separate things, and this is the only app that treats it that way. EVERYWHERE ELSE A button in Control Center, on the Lock Screen and on the Action Button, so a note can be written before the screen is properly on. Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight. Scan text with the camera, send anything to Reminders or Calendar, and share into Promptly from any app. Two columns on iPad. On the wrist, the notebook you are in and a field to add to it. Sync privately through your own iCloud, and export everything as plain JSON whenever you like. PROMPTLY PRO One payment. Not a subscription. Pro adds the layer connecting notes to people and days: notebooks you keep for people get their name and face, a brief before a meeting says who it is with and what is still open, and an old note surfaces quietly while you write a new one about the same thing. Everything else is the free app and stays that way: capture, filing, notebooks, topics, timeline, asking, exporting, syncing and making a prompt. Other notes apps keep documents. Promptly keeps what you wrote, every line with its own notebook, date and topic, and builds the document when you come to read it. That is why it can be asked a question, why the answer shows which notes it came from, and why a subject can be handed to an AI without handing over your library.Read more
