About
Buildplate is a swipe deck for 3D-print models. It pulls from MakerWorld and Printables, learns what you like, and shows you the next thing worth printing. WHY IT EXISTS Both sites host hundreds of thousands of models. Most of them are not for you. Search only works when you already know what you are looking for, and browsing by "popular" shows the same benchmarks and phone stands to everyone. Buildplate is for the other problem: you own a printer, it is sitting idle, and you want something good to print tonight. HOW IT WORKS Swipe right to like, left to pass, up to save. That is the whole interface. After a few dozen swipes the feed stops being generic — it starts favoring the categories, tags and makers you actually keep, and it stops showing you the ones you keep skipping. A separate Discovery feed does the opposite. It deliberately pulls from categories you have never judged either way, so the app does not narrow to a rut of the same six things. Every card there tells you why it appeared. WHAT YOU GET - Two sources in one deck. MakerWorld and Printables, ranked against each other fairly rather than letting whichever site shouts loudest take over. - A profile that shows its work: your top tags, the makers you keep, the categories you lean on, and the blind spots you have never explored. - A library of everything you liked and saved, ready when you are at the printer. - Undo, for when your thumb is faster than your judgement. ON YOUR PHONE The ranking runs on the device. Your taste profile is built and used locally and is never uploaded — what gets synced, if you choose to make an account, is the list of models you judged, so a new phone can rebuild the same profile from it. No account is required to use the app at all. Buildplate links out to MakerWorld and Printables for the files themselves. It never rehosts anyone's model, and every model belongs to its creator.Read more

WHY IT EXISTS
Both sites host hundreds of thousands of models. Most of them are not for you. Search only works when you already know what you are looking for, and browsing by "popular" shows the same benchmarks and phone stands to everyone. Buildplate is for the other problem: you own a printer, it is sitting idle, and you want something good to print tonight.
HOW IT WORKS
Swipe right to like, left to pass, up to save.
WHAT YOU GET
- Two sources in one deck.
ON YOUR PHONE
The ranking runs on the device. Your taste profile is built and used locally and is never uploaded — what gets synced, if you choose to make an account, is the list of models you judged, so a new phone can rebuild the same profile from it. No account is required to use the app at all.
Buildplate links out to MakerWorld and Printables for the files themselves. It never rehosts anyone's model, and every model belongs to its creator.

What's new in 1.0.1 • Your swipes now stay on your device unless you sign in. Buildplate no longer creates a background account or syncs anything until you link an email. • Linking an email on the Profile tab creates your account and backs up the history you've already built on this device. • Refreshed the built-in catalog used when you're offline.
