Petal: Plant Identification

About

You're on a walk. You see a flower you don't recognize. Petal tells you what it is, where it's from, and why it matters, in about ten seconds. Point your camera at any flower or plant and Petal identifies it: common name, Latin name and what it means, where it originated and where it's spread since, the climate and sun it prefers, which direction to plant it, and one fact worth remembering. WHAT YOU GET WITH EVERY ID A full identification card: common name, scientific name, origin, climate, sun exposure, and planting direction. A note on edibility: which parts are safe, which are toxic, and how the plant has been used in cooking. A historical or cultural fact, told as a short true story rather than a trivia entry. A two-sentence reflection written for that exact species, a small parable drawn from the way that plant actually grows. Not generic inspiration. The option to turn any card into a hand-inked botanical illustration: dark background, warm crosshatched linework, the kind of image worth framing. BUILD A GARDEN YOU CAN SHARE Every plant you identify is saved to your own page at lepetal.com/@yourname. Choose which finds appear in The Commons, your public garden. Follow other people identifying plants near them. Admire and share finds you like. Check Bloom of the Day for a new species to learn, whether you've found one yourself or not. BUILT FOR CURIOSITY, NOT A BOTANY DEGREE You don't need to know what a corolla is. Petal is for the person on a walk who sees something and wants its name, a gardener planning a bed, a parent teaching a kid the names of things. No database jargon, no clinical interface. A photo, an answer, and a little wonder. FULL BLOOM MEMBERSHIP Petal is free to use, with 5 plant identifications and 5 botanical illustrations a day. Full Bloom raises both daily limits to 25, for $7.99 per month. Full Bloom is an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
