About
Scribe-ly records or imports audio and turns it into a transcript, right on your iPhone. No cloud processing. No account. Your audio never leaves your device. Point it at a conversation and it figures out who said what. The app separates speakers automatically, so a transcript reads like an actual back and forth instead of one long block of text. Recording keeps going if you lock your phone or switch apps, and you'll see a Live Activity so you can check progress without opening the app. Once you have a transcript, you can edit it, fix a word it got wrong, split or merge lines, or move a line to the right speaker. Every change is tracked, so you can undo it later if you need to. The app also catches some common mistakes on its own, like a sentence that got cut in half between two speakers. You can organize recordings into projects, tag them, and sort by name, date, or length. If you delete something by accident, it sits in a recycle bin for a while before it's really gone. Everything above is free. No trial, no signup, no catch. If you want more, Scribe-ly Pro adds a few things: An AI summary of each transcript, generated on your phone using Apple Intelligence. Nothing gets sent anywhere for this either. More export options. JSON, SRT, and VTT, on top of the plain text and Markdown exports everyone gets. Voice ID, so you can enroll specific people and have them recognized automatically across recordings. A custom vocabulary for names, acronyms, or terms the built in transcription tends to miss. Tags and saved filters if you're dealing with a lot of recordings and want to find things fast. Pro is a subscription, and it comes with a 7 day free trial so you can try it before paying for anything. Most transcription apps send your recordings to a server somewhere. This one doesn't. Whatever you record, whether it's a meeting, an interview, a lecture, or just a note to yourself, it stays on your phone unless you decide to export or share it.
