TroveTrace is a private field journal built for metal detectorists who want a simple, fast way to record every find, track every hunt and keep their detecting history organised. Whether you’re out for an hour at the beach or spending the day exploring an old site, TroveTrace keeps your finds, photos, locations, hunt routes and notes together in one easy-to-use app. ### Record every find Quickly save a discovery while you’re still in the field. Add as much or as little detail as you like, including: • Find name and category • Up to 10 photos • Date and time found • Exact GPS location and searchable General Location • Detector, coil, Target ID and depth • Condition and identification details • Notes and collection information TroveTrace includes quick choices for common Coins, Jewellery, Relics, Junk and other finds, helping you record useful details without slowing you down. ### Track your hunts Create a Hunt and optionally record the route you walk. During an active Hunt, TroveTrace can show active hunting time, distance walked, finds recorded and recording status. Route recording can continue while the screen is locked or while you use another app. When the Hunt is complete, review a detailed summary including your route, distance, duration, finds and category breakdown. Open the full route map to pan and zoom through your Hunt and see where finds were recorded. ### Private maps View your finds on a private map and explore where your discoveries were made. Exact Find and Hunt route locations stay within your TroveTrace library and are not published publicly. Broad General Locations can also be saved to make searching easier without displaying an exact street address. ### Find what you’re looking for As your collection grows, filter and sort by date range, custom dates, category, name, notes, General Location, newest or oldest, and name A–Z or Z–A. ### Collection insights See your detecting history at a glance, including total finds, Hunts completed, coins found, recent finds, recent Hunts, category breakdowns and collection insights. ### Private iCloud sync Your TroveTrace library can sync through your private iCloud account so finds, Hunts, routes, photos, equipment and settings can appear across supported Apple devices. TroveTrace uses a local-first design, so your library remains available on your device even when you’re offline. There is no separate TroveTrace account or developer-run sync server. ### Backup, restore and export Create a private TroveTrace backup whenever you want and restore your library on another supported device. Export and share your information as: • Finds CSV for spreadsheets • Finds PDF for viewing, printing and sharing • Individual Find PDFs • Hunt summaries with route and find information Export privacy options let you control how much location information is included before sharing. ### Research your finds Use Research This Find to help investigate saved discoveries using structured reference information for selected find types.
