About
Medic Calc puts the clinical scores of the prehospital world in one app — built for paramedics, EMTs and other providers who need a reliable score in seconds, not minutes. Tap through each assessment on large, glove-friendly buttons and get the total score, risk category and recommended response instantly. No typing, no menus, no signal required. SEVEN TOOLS, ONE APP • NEWS2 — National Early Warning Score 2 with all seven parameters, full SpO₂ Scale 1 and Scale 2 support, correct air/oxygen scoring and the single-parameter red flag, per the official RCP guideline • qSOFA — three-criteria sepsis risk screen for suspected infection: respiratory rate, mentation and systolic blood pressure • GCS — Glasgow Coma Scale with component reporting (e.g. E3 V4 M5 = 12) and proper NT (not testable) handling instead of a misleading score of 1 • pGCS — the pediatric Glasgow Coma Scale for infants and preverbal children • RACE — prehospital large vessel occlusion screen for suspected stroke, with side-specific cortical signs (aphasia/agnosia) • APGAR — newborn assessment at 1 and 5 minutes, item by item from appearance to respiration • Peds Vitals — normal pediatric vital sign ranges by PALS age band, selectable by age or typical weight, with hypotension thresholds BUILT FOR THE FIELD • Tap-to-score bands — every result updates with each tap, no calculate button • Color-coded scores — spot the red flags instantly • Score summary card — when scoring is complete, view a timestamped card showing the score and all entered parameters, one tap to save it directly to your photo library, useful for handover documentation or your own records • Make it yours — reorder the tools or hide the ones your service doesn't use • Intended use and the original source for every score, one tap away inside each tool • Dark mode by default, made for night shifts — switch to light mode with one tap • Works completely offline — in the ambulance, in the basement, in the middle of nowhere Includes everything from NEWS2 Calc — if you're upgrading, this is the same scoring you already trust, plus six more tools. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts, no ads, no analytics. The app collects nothing, stores nothing and transmits nothing — patient data never leaves the moment. IMPORTANT Medic Calc is a calculation aid. It does not replace clinical judgement, local protocols or medical direction, and a low score never rules out serious illness. Each tool has its own limits: NEWS2 is validated for adults 16 and over, not for children or pregnancy; SpO₂ Scale 2 is only for confirmed hypercapnic respiratory failure on clinician direction. qSOFA is a risk stratification aid, not a diagnostic test for sepsis. The pediatric GCS applies to children typically under 2 years. RACE below 5 does not rule out large vessel occlusion — always follow your local stroke protocol. The Apgar score describes the newborn's condition — never delay resuscitation to assign it. Paediatric normal ranges are a guide, not a verdict: treat the child, not the number.
