About
Know how many days you have spent in every state and country, before a tax authority asks. SpyglassBeacon counts your days in the background, checks them against the residency rules that apply to you, warns you before you cross a line, and keeps a day-by-day record you can hand to your accountant. It uses the "any part of a day counts" standard that residency audits turn on. WHAT IT COUNTS • US states against the 183-day statutory residency line • Schengen: 90 days in any 180 • The UK's 183-day automatic test, on the April tax year • The US Substantial Presence Test, weighted across three years, with your Form 8840 headroom (for non-citizens) • Foreign days toward the FEIE's 330, and days in Canada toward citizenship HOW IT WORKS • Allow location once. Beacon counts in the background with motion-aware tracking that typically uses under 1% of your battery a day. • Set your home state, hide cards you don't need, and mark days you only drove through. • Export a PDF with the summary and every day, ready for your accountant. BUILT FOR • Snowbirds and anyone splitting the year between states • People moving to Florida, Texas or Puerto Rico who need to prove it • Expats, remote workers and long-stay travellers in Europe and the UK • Anyone facing a residency audit PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your location history stays on your phone. No account, no cloud copy. The only thing that leaves is a report you choose to share. Free for 14 days with no card, then a yearly subscription, priced in your currency on this page. SpyglassBeacon is an informational tool, not tax or legal advice. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/Read more

Easier to find, and easier to read. - Set a home state: its card shows your days without warning you about them. - Press and hold any card to hide it. It still counts and still prints in your report. - States you only passed through collapse into one "Also visited" line. - The ledger has year buttons, and the PDF shows the three years behind the Substantial Presence Test. - After you have used Beacon for a while, it may ask you to rate it once.
