epiMeda – Mobile Medical Data Collection epiMeda is a mobile medical data collection and integration platform designed for healthcare professionals. While the app was initially developed in cooperation with healthcare institutions in the Šiauliai region, it is not limited to those institutions and can be used by healthcare professionals and organizations elsewhere. epiMeda enables healthcare professionals to complete configurable medical forms and protocols using iPhones and iPads. Collected information can be securely transferred to healthcare institutions' information systems (HIS) through integration APIs. Key features Configurable medical forms Medical forms and protocols can be created and configured through a dedicated web-based configuration portal. Individual fields can be configured according to their purpose, data type, validation rules, and coding requirements. Structured clinical data The platform supports openEHR archetypes for structured clinical data and can be adapted to different clinical workflows and data requirements. Photos, videos and multimedia Photos, videos, and other digital content can be attached to form fields. Multimedia can be used both to display information and to document a patient's condition as part of clinical data collection. Patient identification In patient-related workflows, patients can be identified by scanning a barcode or QR code from a wristband, label, or other identification medium. Patient information integration After patient identification, demographic and other relevant patient information can be retrieved from the healthcare institution's information system through an API. Secure authentication and access control epiMeda can integrate with Microsoft Entra ID or Google Firebase Authentication. Access can be restricted to pre-registered and authorized healthcare professionals. Healthcare information system integration Collected data can be exchanged with healthcare institutions' HIS and other information systems through APIs and configured integration mechanisms. iPhone and iPad support epiMeda supports iOS devices and provides a consistent medical data collection environment across iPhones and iPads. Designed for healthcare workflows epiMeda can be adapted to different medical data collection scenarios, departments, and clinical workflows without requiring changes to the mobile application itself. Forms, fields, validation rules, coding, multimedia and integration requirements can be configured according to the needs of each implementation.
