About
Read less. Know more. DocDigest is an offline document summariser: it turns PDFs, Word documents, EPUBs and text files into clear summaries, entirely on your iPhone or iPad. No account, no cloud, no tracking. Your documents never leave the device, and summarising keeps working in aeroplane mode. WHAT'S FREE AND WHAT PRO ADDS DocDigest is free to download. The free version summarises documents up to 20,000 characters, with the built-in engine, Apple Intelligence or the compact on-device AI models. DocDigest Pro is an optional in-app purchase: a monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. It removes the length limit and unlocks the largest on-device AI models. Features marked (Pro) below require it. Everything still runs on-device, with or without Pro. WHAT YOU GET • TL;DR — the whole document in a sentence or two • Key points — clean bullets, with page references on PDFs • Highlights — the standout quotes, verbatim • Ask this document — question the text and get grounded answers • Immersive reader — a distraction-free full-text view with progress • A searchable library — every summary you make, filed by folder and category WHO IT'S FOR • Students summarising lecture notes and PDFs before an exam — and whole textbooks (Pro) • Researchers skimming papers to decide what deserves a full read • Professionals digesting reports and contracts — and long policy documents (Pro) • Readers pulling the key ideas out of articles — and out of whole EPUB books (Pro) • Anyone with more to read than there are hours in the day HOW IT SUMMARISES • Fast extractive engine, built in — instant summaries on any device, nothing to download, offline from the very first launch • Optional on-device AI models — download one and get abstractive summaries written in the model's own words, still entirely offline. The compact models are free; the largest models require Pro • Uses Apple Intelligence on supported devices, free Pick the summary length that suits the document — brief, standard or detailed — and re-summarise anything with a different length or a different engine whenever you want. ONE SUMMARISER FOR EVERYTHING YOU READ • Summarise PDF files — reports, papers, contracts, and long manuals (Pro) • Summarise Word documents without opening an office suite • Get a book summary from an EPUB before you commit the hours (Pro) • Turn lecture notes and textbook chapters into clean study notes • Condense articles, essays and saved web pages in seconds PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE Most document summariser apps upload your file to a server. DocDigest never uploads your documents: summarising happens entirely on your device. The network is only used to download the AI models you choose, to verify Pro purchases and to send anonymous crash reports. No sign-up, no analytics, and no document ever leaves your device.
