About

Sampada puts a verified record of Nepal's living heritage in your pocket: the jatras, the temples, the courtyards, and the stories that explain them. What makes it different is who writes it. Every festival and every heritage site in Sampada is published and verified by the municipality whose heritage it is — not by us, and not by travelers guessing. Lalitpur Metropolitan City is the first city publishing through Sampada, and its festivals and heritage sites are live in the app today. FESTIVALS, AS THE CITY KEEPS THEM Rato Machhindranath Jatra, Matya, Kartik Naach, Gaa Pyakha, Paya Jatra, Yenya Punhi as Lalitpur observes it, Nhu Dan and more — each with its story, its stages, its route, and the etiquette that lets a visitor watch respectfully. DATES YOU CAN TRUST Festival dates in Lalitpur are set by the city, not by a formula, and Sampada never invents one. A festival with no announced date says so honestly. The moment the city announces it, your phone can tell you. A CALENDAR IN THREE RECKONINGS See the year in Bikram Sambat, Nepal Sambat and the Gregorian calendar at once, with a countdown to what is coming next. REMINDERS AND NOTIFICATIONS Ask to be reminded about any festival and Sampada notifies you the evening before and on the morning of the day. You can also hear when a date is announced, and when a procession actually starts. FOLLOW A PROCESSION LIVE When a chariot is moving, the city's Culture Office switches on the live tracker and posts where it has reached. Watch it move without standing in the crowd — or find out where to join it. HERITAGE SITES AND AN OFFLINE MAP Patan Durbar Square, the Golden Temple, Mahaboudha, the Ashoka Stupas and more: what to look for, visiting hours, practical tips, and the best spots to watch a festival from. The map works without a signal, shows how far each site is, and points out what is near you. DID YOU KNOW? Short facts about the city's history, craft and ritual, for the walk between two temples. IN FOUR LANGUAGES, AND OFFLINE Nepali, English, French and Spanish. Sampada ships with content already inside it and caches what it downloads, so it keeps working in an alley with no signal, on a plane, or on a foreign SIM. NO ACCOUNT NEEDED Browse everything without signing in. Create an account only if you want your favorites on every phone you use. No ads. No tracking. No analytics. ABOUT SAMPADA Sampada is built by Sironik as a platform for any municipality or heritage body in Nepal to publish the heritage it looks after. Lalitpur Metropolitan City is the first, with the support of its Culture Office. Questions or corrections: support@sironik.comRead more
