TappyBBS

TappyBBS is a chat application modeled after old-school terminal based BBS systems! Step into an authentic, terminal-first community inspired by the dial-up bulletin board systems of the 1980s and ’90s. Enter the Lobby, see who’s online and explore conversations through a command-driven interface built entirely around glowing text, prompts and a custom terminal keyboard. DISCOVER THE BOARD Browse public Rooms, join ongoing conversations and connect with people across the board. Create private Rooms when you want a more focused place to talk. SEND eXPRESS MESSAGES Send private eXpress messages directly to other users. If they’re away, your message will be waiting when they return. KEEP UP WITH THE CONVERSATION Scan for unread messages, receive replies and return directly to the Rooms where the conversation is happening. REACH THE SYSOPS Report content or open a private Yell Room when you need help from the moderation team. A DIFFERENT KIND OF SOCIAL EXPERIENCE TappyBBS trades polished social-media chrome for phosphor-green text, command prompts and the feeling of dialing into a hidden community. It’s nostalgic for BBS veterans, but built as a fully functional social experience for anyone ready to try something different. Log on. Explore the board. See who answers.
