About
Bosun is a native iOS and iPadOS control panel for TrueNAS SCALE — not just dashboards, but the actual control panel. Pools, apps, virtual machines, shares, users, snapshots, every action the web UI offers, made for touch and built for your pocket. It talks to TrueNAS directly over its modern WebSocket API. No middle-man cloud, no Bosun account, no tracking — the app connects straight to your own server, and nothing you do leaves it. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Dashboard — live CPU, memory, network and disk I/O with rolling sparklines, pool health, days until each pool is full, alerts, jobs and a security posture score, all at a glance. Tap a tile for ten minutes of history. • Monitors — your own thresholds (pool capacity, disk temperature, a stopped service, an overdue scrub…) with a notification the moment one fires. • Storage — pools with a topology map of every vdev and disk, datasets with the details the web UI shows, capacity trends, and a long-press to start, pause or stop a scrub. • Apps — live CPU and memory per app; start, stop, update and roll back; browse the catalog with a full preview before you install. • Instances — virtual machines and containers, with live state while the screen is open. • Data protection — snapshot and scrub schedules you can edit, replication and cloud-sync status, and snapshots you can browse, hold, roll back or clean up. • Health & Security — two dozen read-only checks that name what needs attention, from pool redundancy to passwordless sudo. • Alerts — dismiss or snooze, and set up instant push through TrueNAS's own alert services (Telegram, Slack, PagerDuty…) with a test button. • Reporting — CPU, memory, network, load and temperature history from an hour to a month; pinch to zoom, compare with the previous period. BUILT FOR iOS Tab-bar and iPad split-view layouts, pull-to-refresh, search, haptics, Live Activities that track a long job to completion, and Siri shortcuts ("Is my NAS healthy?"). Seven widgets for the Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy — storage per pool, alerts, apps, performance, monitors, server status, and a glance you configure. An Apple Watch app with six pages and three complications. Multiple servers you switch between in a tap, reachable at home or away from the same profile — or try the built-in sample server before you connect anything. SECURE BY DEFAULT Every change asks for Face ID or your passcode first — Control Mode — and locks itself again after a few minutes so nothing changes by accident. API keys live only in the iOS keychain, and Bosun pins your server's certificate on first connect and refuses a changed one. Bosun is free — no In-App Purchases, ads, accounts or tracking. Bosun needs a TrueNAS SCALE server (25.04 or newer) that you already run. It is not affiliated with iXsystems.Read more
