GrainMap

GrainMap brings the quiet logic of the workshop into the planning of small wood projects, letting grain and joinery speak before the first cut. The app favors warm neutrals and a gentle layout, with slow transitions that echo the measured rhythm of handwork. Soft illustrations and modest micro-interactions keep the focus on material and measure rather than complex lists. Practically, GrainMap offers Projects, Material Cards and a Cut Plan panel where users note wood species, dimensions and one reference photo with concise entries. Simple filters for thickness or finish and a basic timer for glue clamps make everyday work flows intuitive. The inventive feature, Grain Map, allows users to pin a small directional tile showing grain orientation so boards can be arranged visually before cutting.
