SafeKnot Kids

SafeKnot Kids is the CHILD app for SafeKnot. It belongs on the child's phone and works only together with the SafeKnot parent app — linked by a code the parents generate there. Without this connection, the app does nothing. FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY SafeKnot works across platforms. Location, messages and emergency alerts run reliably between the family's devices — even when parents and child use different devices. Two parents can also look after the same children. WHAT THE CHILD SEES IN THE APP Share location The child shares their location with the connected parents and can see that it's being shared. Nothing happens in secret. Safe places Home, school, grandma's — places the parents define. When the child arrives or leaves, the parents get a message. Emergency alert A long press on the SOS button instantly alerts all connected parents, with location. Even when the phone is on silent. Messages Chat with the parents, with text and voice messages. No contact with strangers, no open chat rooms. Fake call A staged call a child can use to get out of an uncomfortable situation. Tasks and appointments Parents create tasks, the child checks them off. Steps, water, activity A simple daily overview that encourages getting outside instead of staring at the screen. WHAT PARENTS SET UP Time windows Times when apps are blocked — such as school hours or the evening. The block ends automatically; the operating system itself takes care of that. Protected settings The parent area in the child app can be protected with a password, so the settings can't simply be switched off. PRIVACY — DEVELOPED IN GERMANY SafeKnot is developed in Germany. The family's data is stored encrypted on European servers and is subject to the GDPR. No ads, no ad networks, no selling of data. No recording of conversations, no reading of other people's messages. We don't believe in secret surveillance. The child sees in the app what is being shared — trust grows when both sides know where they stand. PERMISSIONS Location set to "Always": needed so tracking also works when the app is closed. Notifications: for messages from the parents and for emergencies. Screen Time: for the time windows. This permission can only be granted directly on the child's phone. Motion: for the step counter. Optional. SETUP IN THREE STEPS The parents download SafeKnot on their own phone and generate a connection code there. Enter this code in SafeKnot Kids. Grant the permissions — done. The code is valid only once and expires after a short time. We recommend adding the child's phone to Family Sharing and setting a Screen Time passcode. SUBSCRIPTION SafeKnot Kids is free.
