About
Accumulate One-Upmanship Points! A Realistic Neighborhood Relationship Simulation. Your husband's job transfer and a stretchy 35-year mortgage. You've finally moved into your dream high-rise apartment. The first thing you're asked in the elevator lobby isn't your name. The moment you answer, the temperature of the other person's smile changes. Your apartment is on the 3rd floor. This tower has 48 floors. On the day you moved in, you were 22nd out of 22 people. Your neighborly relationships begin from the bottom. ■ 30 residents. Everyone tries to one-up you in some way. Hometown, education, husband's occupation, children's cram school, meticulousness of lifestyle, overseas experience, whether or not they own a vacation home. The residents of this tower try to one-up you in their respective areas of expertise, often as a casual greeting. That perfectly timed remark, whether intentional or not. You've heard it somewhere before. Maybe you've even said it yourself. And on the top floor, the person who reigns supreme in this tower awaits. ■ Fight back, ignore, or be honest? A successful retort means "Mounting the enemy!" As you accumulate Mounting Points, you'll be able to choose more assertive responses that weren't available before, and your Tower rank will rise. However, you'll be thoroughly disliked by the person you've gained the upper hand over. If you're disliked too much, they won't even open the door for you when you visit. There's no single right answer. Different approaches work depending on the person. ■ What if you learn a neighbor's secret? Even seemingly perfect residents all have secrets they can't tell anyone. Only those you've become close to will confide in you. Will you use it to gain an advantage, keep quiet and protect them, or spread it as a rumor? There's a limit to the number of times you can use it, and once used, it cannot be undone. If you misuse it, you'll be ostracized by everyone in the Tower. ■ Lunch parties, barbecues—they're all battlefields. Welcome lunch parties, rooftop barbecues, graduation preparations, Christmas parties. In this tower, even the most enjoyable gatherings never end peacefully. Seating arrangements, gifts, and even the price of presents—everything has its hierarchy. A residents' meeting is held the week you move in. Someone who smiles and says they're on your side might not be your ally when it comes to voting. ■ Reaching the Top Isn't the Only Goal There are seven possible endings. You can aim for the top of the tower, or you can find a completely different place to belong. Why was the resident of the top floor standing in the third-floor hallway? Why does the always-smiling neighbor live on this floor? While laughing and playing, you'll begin to see what lies behind the hierarchy. ■ For those who: ・Want to laugh at relatable situations in neighborhood and mom-friend relationships ・Want to think deeply about the intricacies of human relationships ・Like stories that leave a lasting impression after a good laugh *This game is fiction.
