About
Mushroom identifier in your pocket: photograph any mushroom and the AI suggests the likely species, its edibility category, a description and the dangerous look-alikes worth ruling out. IDENTIFY MUSHROOMS ANYWHERE Point your camera at a find in the woods, in a field, on a lawn or on a fallen log. The identifier covers the mushrooms people actually meet — chanterelle, porcini, morel, oyster mushroom, field mushroom, puffball, shaggy ink cap, honey fungus and hundreds more — and it flags the poisonous ones, including death cap, destroying angel, fly agaric, false morel, jack-o'-lantern and false chanterelle. HOW IT WORKS 1. Photograph the mushroom, or pick an image from your gallery. 2. The AI analyses the photo and proposes a possible species. 3. Read the name, the description and the edibility category. 4. Check similar species and read the safety warnings. For a more accurate result, photograph the whole mushroom in good light. Show the cap, its underside, the stem and the base of the stem. A single photo may not reveal every feature needed for identification — spore colour, smell and habitat all matter. ANSWERS IN SIX LANGUAGES English, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Finnish and Russian — each with the common names local foragers actually use, not a translated Latin list. You choose your language the first time you open the app. YOUR MUSHROOM MAP • Save finds to the map and return to the same spots next year. • Filter the map by species and edibility — see only the mushrooms you actually pick. • Browse earlier identifications in history and keep the best as favourites. WEATHER AND HABITAT • Every find keeps its weather: temperature, humidity and the previous seven days' rainfall. • In Estonian and Finnish forests we also show the habitat — dominant tree species, site type and stand age from both countries' forest registers. • The AI takes the habitat into account when answering: a similar-looking mushroom under pine and under spruce can be two different species. • Before you shoot, we suggest what to include in the frame for a more accurate answer. • Pro gives unlimited identifications, more detailed answers and more look-alike species. SAFETY COMES FIRST The AI can be wrong, especially with young, old, damaged or similar-looking mushrooms, and deadly species can closely resemble edible ones. This is an educational aid, not an expert determination. Never eat a mushroom based on an AI identification alone. Always have the species confirmed by an experienced forager or checked against a reliable field guide before eating. When in doubt, throw it out. Identify mushrooms, save your finds and learn to recognise them more confidently.Read more

A location helps name the species more accurately — the app takes into account which forest you are in and what the weather has been. We now ask before you take the photo, and explain why.

Saving a find to the map is now visible straight away rather than at the end of the page.
