Tinct: Ink Recipes

Mix, measure, remember. Tinct is a quiet calculator for fountain pen ink mixers — the kind of mixer who keeps a notebook, a syringe, and a small graveyard of jam jars on the desk. It does one thing: it remembers your recipes, exactly. Add the inks you're combining. Tinct shows the ratios live as you tweak the drops. Slide to scale the recipe to any volume — 5 mL for a sample vial, 50 mL for a converter refill. Save it with a swatch photo and a line of notes about the paper and nib you tested. That's it. No account. No cloud. No subscription. No ads. KEY FEATURES • Live ratio calculation with a visual colour bar • Toggle between drops, grams, and millilitres • Scale slider — 5 mL to 100 mL — with per-ingredient amounts • Recipe library with swatch thumbnails and colour filters • Notes field for paper, nib, conditions, observations • Share a recipe as text — or export your whole library as a JSON file • Local-only storage — your recipes never touch our servers WHO IT'S FOR For the mixer who's been writing ratios on Post-it notes and losing them. For the FPN member who wants to share recipes the way good cocktail bars share cocktail cards. For anyone who has tried to scale "5 drops Yama-budo, 2 drops Oxblood" up to 50 mL and gotten the math slightly wrong. PRIVACY & BACKUP Tinct stores everything on your device. No accounts, no servers, no analytics, no third parties — we never see your recipes. • Export the whole library as a JSON file at any time — keep a copy wherever you trust it. • Import the same JSON on another device to restore. ABOUT Tinct is an indie release inspired by a 2025 thread on the Fountain Pen Network asking for "ink recipe software." This is that.
