About

SpeakerClock emulates the famous clock that every speaker at a TED conference has to keep an eye on. Start the clock and put it in your eyeline while you talk. A glance tells you how much speaking time is left — huge red LED digits you can read from a lectern, and three traffic lights that tell the back of the room how you are doing without you having to squint. GREEN, YELLOW, RED Green is the body of your talk. Yellow means start wrapping up. Red means give your closing remarks and thank the audience. The whole screen flashes as each light changes, so you cannot miss it even if you are looking at the audience rather than the clock. Both thresholds are yours to set: dial the timer to the value you want and press and hold the light you want to move. SET IT WITH A SWIPE Swipe left and right across the digits to set any time between 00:00 and 99:30, in 15-second steps. Tap to start and stop. PRESETS Store the talk lengths you use again and again. A preset remembers its starting time and both thresholds, and lights up whenever the clock is sitting on it — so you can see at a glance whether what is on screen is your preset or something you dialled by hand. The upgrade adds four more. ON EVERY SCREEN YOU HAVE Phone, tablet, Chromebook and Android TV, from the same app. Put it on a tablet on the lectern, or on the television at the back of the room where the whole panel can see it. It rotates: landscape puts MM:SS on one line, portrait stacks the minutes over the seconds so the digits stay as large as the screen allows. The screen stays awake while the clock runs. Everything is saved, so it opens the way you left it. Fully accessible with TalkBack: the countdown, the presets and the traffic lights are all labelled and adjustable, and the clock speaks the time as it passes each minute.Read more
