About

FinWright shows every account you have — balances, holdings and transactions — on your Android phone and tablet, and works out what it all comes to in retirement. FOUR WAYS IN • Pair with another device — your Mac, iPad, or another Android device — using a six-digit code, and your ledger arrives over your own Wi-Fi. • Import statements: OFX, QFX or CSV files downloaded from your banks, with no bank connection at all. • Set FinWright up on this device with your own Plaid keys. • Or try it first with sample data — no account, no network. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR DEVICES Your ledger travels directly between your own devices on your local network, encrypted end to end. There is no server in the middle, no account with us and no analytics. On your device the ledger is an encrypted database whose key is held in Android's hardware-backed Keystore. THE SAME FIGURES, THE SAME WAY Institutions with their totals, accounts with their types and balances, and transactions listed flat, by year and month, or by category, with search. Loans and credit cards subtract, so the total is your net worth rather than what you happen to hold. Investment accounts show their holdings underneath. Drag institutions, accounts and tabs into the order you want. ON A PHONE AND ON A TABLET On a phone, each institution folds open to its accounts, and an investment account switches between its portfolio and its transactions. On a tablet, institutions on the left, their accounts beside them, and transactions with the portfolio underneath — the whole picture at once, with a row of tabs across the top. Hide the sidebar when you want the room. Attach a keyboard and the Mac's shortcuts work: Tab between panels, arrows through the lists, Ctrl+F to search. A RETIREMENT PLAN THAT DOES THE TAX Outlook, Retirement, Income and Repeating, as on the Mac. When you can stop work, what you can spend a year, and when the money runs out. Tax band by band, federal and state, through required withdrawals and Social Security. Claiming ages compared, a Roth conversion schedule, health cover and long-term care, the plan for one of you alone, and what your heirs inherit. Net worth and cash flow on one timeline. Several models open as tabs, and a change made here is the plan your Mac projects. LOCKED THE SAME WAY Your fingerprint or screen lock opens it. The authenticator you set up on your Mac works here too, and its code can be replaced by your fingerprint. The eye hides amounts, names, ages and dates of birth with one tap. Stop it syncing while it is locked, if you would rather a device in a drawer collected nothing until you pick it up. REQUIREMENTS Nothing, if you keep your ledger from downloaded statements. Connecting institutions directly uses Plaid, with your own Plaid client ID and secret — on this device or on FinWright for Mac. Be aware that Plaid charges your Plaid account for that use. FinWright is a planning tool, not financial or tax advice.Read more
