About
Shinun is a flashcard maker with spaced repetition. Make flashcards from your own words, notes and lists, study them four ways, and let the app schedule each review so you remember what you study. Free: one deck, five cards in it, two study sessions a day. Pro removes those limits for a one-time purchase, with no subscription. Study offline, without an account and without ads. Use it for vocabulary, languages, exams, or anything you need to learn by heart. FOUR WAYS TO STUDY • Flip: look at the front, recall the back, then check • Type: write the answer yourself and see which letters differ • Multiple choice: a quick quiz built from your own deck • Match: pair each front with its back on a board of tiles SEE WHERE YOUR ANSWER DIFFERS • Type the answer instead of guessing whether you were close • Each answer is marked correct, almost correct or wrong • Accents and small typos in longer words are forgiven. Letters that differ are underlined IMPORT AND EXPORT • Paste a list: Shinun detects the separators and shows a preview before anything is saved • CSV and TSV files from a spreadsheet or your files • Text decks from .apkg files, with a field mapping step • Export your decks • Share a deck as a read only link. Only that deck is uploaded, and only when you tap Share HEBREW AND MIXED TEXT • Each side of a card has its own text direction, so Hebrew on the front and English on the back both read correctly • Hebrew, Arabic and Latin script can share one card SPACED REPETITION • FSRS, a modern scheduling algorithm, runs on your phone • Four grades, each showing when the card will come back • Cards you miss come back in the same session • A forecast of what falls due over the next 30 days • Retention and review statistics STUDY OFFLINE • Everything works offline except sending or opening a shared link • No account. Your decks stay on your phone • A home screen widget with the number of cards due today • Light and dark themes, 15 languages, and a card text size you set per deck WHAT PRO ADDS • All four study modes are free: flip, typed answers, multiple choice and match. So are FSRS scheduling, stats, every import option, export and the small widget • Pro: unlimited decks, cards and sessions, reverse cards, a custom retention target, and the medium widget • Pro is a one-time purchase with no subscription. Restore it on your other devices with the same store account Starter decks to begin with: 1,000 common Hebrew words, Hebrew example sentences, and 1,000 words each of Spanish, French and Arabic, all with English answers. The free version copies the first five cards of a starter deck; Pro copies the whole deck.Read more
