About
Assimila is a quiet daily practice for the ideas you meet in books, articles and talks. Capture one sentence. Assimila reads it once, then asks you about it over time — starting with plain recall and climbing toward judgment as the idea holds. The same idea returns in a harder form rather than more often. Ten modes, five levels Every idea is tested through ten cognitive modes: state it from memory, spot it in an unfamiliar example, use it on a live problem, say what it predicts, find the case that breaks it, weigh it against a competing idea, reason it through in your own situation, teach it, decide with it. A tenth mode asks, months later, how the idea changed the way you think. Depth, not repetition Most review tools ask the same question forever. Assimila asks when the idea applies, when it does not, and whether you have used it lately. If you apply one idea to everything, it will ask you for the case where it fails before letting it climb further. Answer by voice Every response field has a microphone. Talk, and the transcript lands in the field for you to edit. Nothing is submitted until you press the button. Never gamified No streaks, no points, no leaderboards. An empty queue is a fine outcome, and a gap of weeks is unremarkable. Nothing expires while you are away. Your words stay yours What you captured is kept exactly as you wrote it, next to what Assimila read into it. Both are editable and never confused for one another. Works offline Reviews and captures both work with no connection. Responses are scored provisionally and re-read when you reconnect. Assimila Personal is $12 a month, or $120 a year. Your first 20 ideas are free.Read more

Ten modes, five levels
Every idea is tested through ten cognitive modes: state it from memory, spot it in an unfamiliar example, use it on a live problem, say what it predicts, find the case that breaks it, weigh it against a competing idea, reason it through in your own situation, teach it, decide with it. A tenth mode asks, months later, how the idea changed the way you think.
Depth, not repetition
Most review tools ask the same question forever. Assimila asks when the idea applies, when it does not, and whether you have used it lately. If you apply one idea to everything, it will ask you for the case where it fails before letting it climb further.
