About
Vettly Companion is the teen-side app of Vettly Family, your online safety copilot. It gives teens private tools to spot phishing, scams, fake accounts, and grooming red flags early and decide what to do, and it surfaces calm Safety Moments to a paired parent or guardian only when something serious happens or when the teen chooses to share. Never a feed of everyday messages. CHECK THINGS BEFORE THEY BECOME A PROBLEM • Check a message - paste a DM or add a screenshot. Screenshots are read on the phone and only the text is checked. See red flags like grooming, pressure, or secrecy in plain language. • Check a link - spot scams, phishing, fake giveaways, and lookalike sites before you tap. • Check a person - look up a username or profile on Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Discord, or Roblox for signs of fake, catfish, or predatory accounts. • Ask Guardian - ask anything in your own words and get a straight answer with next steps, plus crisis support when it matters. YOU'RE IN CONTROL • Clear next steps for every check: block, report, save evidence, or tell a trusted adult • Choose your trusted adults and how you want help • Share a check with your family only if you want to. They see what Vettly found, never the message itself • Share from any app with the Android share button LEARN AS YOU GO The Learn center has short lessons with real examples on spotting scams, grooming tactics, impersonation, and protecting your info. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • Checks stay private to the teen unless they choose to share • The teen sees exactly what's active. Nothing runs hidden • Companion never blocks apps or limits screen time • One-time check-ins and one-tap help requests, only when the teen chooses • They can request a privacy pause; the parent decides • Password fields and unrelated conversations stay out of view OPTIONAL ACCESSIBILITY SAFETY SIGNALS Vettly Companion uses Android's AccessibilityService API only after the teen gives clear consent and turns the service on in Android settings. The service inspects on-screen text for configured online-safety risk patterns, such as blackmail, coercion, self-harm language or requests for money or secret meetings. It ignores password fields and common verification codes. Only text matching a safety-risk pattern is saved, encrypted and made available to the paired parent or guardian's Safety Inbox. Vettly does not use the service to control the phone, tap buttons, install apps or sell data. The teen can decline, pause Vettly's access or turn the service off at any time. Vettly Companion supports teens ages 13–17. A Vettly Family parent account and parent-approved pairing code are required.Read more
