About
Supported Living Resources is a reference directory for registered managers and leaders working in supported accommodation for 16-17 year old looked-after children and care leavers, and supported living services for care leavers aged 18 and over, in England. IMPORTANT: This app requires a one-time in-app purchase of £6.99 to unlock the full directory. There is no free tier or subscription — a single payment, made once through your Apple ID, gives permanent access to all current and future content. Please do not download this app expecting free access; the unlock screen appears immediately on launch and must be completed before any directory content becomes visible. WHY TWO SECTIONS? Supported accommodation for 16-17 year olds is regulated by Ofsted under the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023. Supported living for care leavers aged 18 and over currently has no single dedicated regulator. Because the two age groups sit under very different frameworks, this app keeps them as separate, clearly labelled sections rather than mixing statutory and general guidance together. 16-17 (STATUTORY) SECTION INCLUDES: - Regulation & Inspection (Ofsted, DfE and related bodies) - Local Authorities — Children's Services, covering all English local authorities - Safeguarding & Reporting contacts - Recording Systems used across children's residential and supported accommodation settings - Policies & Procedures providers - Physical Intervention and restraint-reduction training providers - Advocacy & Children's Rights organisations - Training Providers, including safeguarding, exploitation awareness and Level 5 leadership qualifications - Member Associations for the sector - Trade Unions representing care and support staff 18+ (GENERAL GUIDANCE) SECTION INCLUDES: - Care Leaver Charities & Advocacy organisations - Housing & Homelessness support services - Regulators that may apply depending on your service (for example, CQC where personal care is delivered, or the Regulator of Social Housing where the landlord is a registered social housing provider) - Benefits & Financial Support guidance for care leavers - Health & Wellbeing support services - Recording Systems used in adult supported living - Training Providers for adult social care qualifications and sector-specific CPD - Member Associations - Trade Unions Every entry includes a name, a short description of its relevance, and contact details where available (phone, email and website), so you can get in touch directly from the app. WHO THIS APP IS FOR This app is designed for registered managers, nominated individuals, service managers and other professionals responsible for running supported accommodation or supported living services in England. It is a reference tool, not a substitute for reading the current regulations, statutory guidance or Ofsted's own published materials. Responsibility for decisions relating to any individual young person or service always rests with the registered provider or other appropriately qualified professional. THIS APP IS PART OF A FAMILY Supported Living Resources is one of several reference apps for the children's social care and supported living sector, including apps covering children's home care standards, reporting procedures, and a directory for children's homes specifically.
