About
Supported Living Care Standards is a reference app for anyone registering, managing or working in supported accommodation and supported living services for young people in England. IMPORTANT: This app is free to download, but requires a one-time in-app purchase to unlock full access to all content. There is no subscription and no ads — you pay once and keep access permanently, including future updates. It covers two distinct areas in one place: 16-17 SUPPORTED ACCOMMODATION (STATUTORY) For registered providers, service managers and staff working under the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023. Includes: The four Quality Standards Ofsted inspects against (leadership & management, protection, accommodation, support) The eight principles underpinning the Regulations, explained in practical terms The four categories of supported accommodation and their registration implications Registration roles: the Nominated Individual and Registered Service Manager, with the actual Regulation 12 requirements A full library of the documents, policies and records a provider needs to hold — from the Statement of Purpose and Young Person's Guide through to workforce plans, case records, registers and registration application documents — each one linked to its source regulation or official guidance 18+ SUPPORTED LIVING (GOOD PRACTICE) For services supporting care leavers aged 18-25, where there's no single regulator. Includes: The current regulatory landscape: the Regulator of Social Housing, the Housing Ombudsman, when CQC applies, and what's changing under the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023 Staying Put and Staying Close, including their current statutory status Local authority duties: Personal Advisers, Pathway Plans and the local offer Good-practice documents including licence agreements, support plans, move-on plans, and the evidence needed for Housing Benefit "exempt accommodation" claims EVERY TOPIC IS SOURCED This isn't a summary written from memory — every regulation, standard and document links directly to its official source: legislation.gov.uk, Ofsted's own guidance, or the relevant government department. Where something is genuinely uncertain or not yet in force (like future licensing for 18+ services), the app says so clearly rather than guessing. SEARCH EVERYTHING Full search across every regulation, document and organisation, so you can find what you need in seconds rather than digging through PDFs. ORGANISATION DIRECTORY Direct links to Ofsted, the Regulator of Social Housing, the Housing Ombudsman, and care-leaver support organisations including Become, Coram Voice, Centrepoint, Shelter and the Care Leaver Covenant. This app is for information purposes only and is not a substitute for the current regulations, statutory guidance, or Ofsted's own published materials. Responsibility for decisions about an individual young person or service always rests with the registered provider, registered service manager, or other appropriately qualified professional. Part of a small family of reference apps for the children's residential care and supported living sector, built by someone who works in it.Read more
