PennyBook: Expense Tracker

PennyBook is a simple expense tracker that stays on your iPhone or iPad. Tap +, and an entry takes about three seconds. LOG IT FAST Type the amount, tap a category, save. Add a few words and the category picks itself, learning from what you filed before. Type "coffee 4" and the amount fills in too, or say it: dictation runs on your device. WALLETS WITH REAL BALANCES Cash, bank accounts, credit cards, e-wallets. Enter what is in each today and every entry moves it from there. A card shows what you owe. If the bank disagrees, adjust the balance with a note: one visible entry, never a quiet rewrite. SPENDING, INCOME AND TRANSFERS Spending carries a minus and income a plus in every list. A transfer moves money between your wallets and never counts as spending, so an ATM withdrawal or a card bill doesn't distort the month. FIND ANYTHING Search the whole book with a few words or an amount. Narrow it by kind, wallet, category, an amount range or dates, and see how many entries match and what they add up to. SEE WHERE THE MONTH WENT Spent against your budget, what is left per day, and how you compare with last month. Insights shows six months of income beside spending, what you kept, and the month by category. BRING YOUR HISTORY Choose the export from your old tracker, or paste a table. The file is read on your device, wallets come across, categories are matched, duplicates are skipped, and you see what will happen before anything is written. One tap undoes an import. EVERYWHERE YOU ARE Widgets on the Home Screen and Lock Screen, Siri ("Log an expense in PennyBook"), iPad in either orientation, and optional iCloud sync to your other iPhones and iPads through your own private iCloud. PennyBook has no networking code of its own; the only thing that ever leaves your device is iCloud sync, off until you turn it on, into your own iCloud where we cannot see it.
