About
One Italian dish to guess, every day. The same one for everyone, wherever you are. HOW IT WORKS The first card is already face up: it is the most ordinary ingredient, the one that tells you almost nothing. The rest turn over one at a time, from the common to the revealing. You can guess an ingredient to turn it over for free — or name the dish outright, if you already know. A wrong answer costs you an attempt, but leaves you a clue: the region and the course. 978 DISHES, TWENTY REGIONS From carbonara to the fig-paste frustingo of the Marche, from Aosta Valley seupa to the mpanatigghi of Modica, which hide beef inside a sweet filling. Dish names stay in Italian in every language: a dish is called what it is called. Every dish comes with the thing worth knowing about it. Why escarole must be wrung dry before it goes into the pizza. Why the moscioli of Portonovo cannot be farmed. Why Crema di Cogne wants boiling cream poured onto the yolks and never the other way round. FOUR WAYS TO PLAY • Dish of the day — one a day, the same for everyone, with a streak to keep • Endless — as many dishes as you like, whenever you like • Chain — dishes linked to one another by a shared ingredient • Challenges — three a day: build the dish, spot the odd one out, name the region And Chef mode, for playing without a safety net: no help, double points. THE COOKBOOK Every dish you guess joins your cookbook, sorted by course and by region, with its ingredients and its story. It fills up slowly, and it is the part that stays once the round is over. CAREER AND ACHIEVEMENTS You start as an apprentice and work up to chef, then start collecting stars. Fifteen achievements and three Game Center leaderboards, if you feel like measuring up. NO ACCOUNT There is nothing to sign up for and no server your data is sent to. Progress stays on your phone and, if you want it to, syncs through your own iCloud between iPhone and iPad. In Italian, English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese.Read more
