The built-in pedometer filters motion aggressively to avoid mistaking fidgeting for walking, and treadmill gait is unusually uniform while your body barely moves through space. It is exactly the pattern those filters distrust. Stepper Pro reads the rhythm of your stride instead. HOW IT WORKS Put your phone in your pocket, press Start, and walk. Stepper Pro listens to the accelerometer and locks onto the cadence of your gait. Any pocket, any angle — the detection is orientation-independent, so it does not care how the phone is sitting. It knows the difference between walking and running, and says so. TREADMILL OR OUTDOORS — IT WORKS IT OUT Start walking and Stepper Pro notices on its own where you are. Steps with no movement across the map means a treadmill. Steps that take you somewhere means outdoors — and there it measures your distance and draws your route on a map. You never pick a mode. Location is optional. Say no and you still have the full treadmill counter.
