Pond Party

Pond Party is a travel log for rubber ducks. Every duck carries a tag. Scan it and you meet the duck: where it hatched, everywhere it has been, and every stop drawn as one line across a world map. Leave a waddle of your own — a place, a photograph, a few words — and the journey grows by one more leg. Then the duck moves on. Hand it to a stranger at a festival, leave it on a train, post it to a friend in another country. Whoever finds it next picks up the story, and you learn where your duck went without ever having to ask. YOU HAVE TO BE HANDED A DUCK There is no sign-up here. An account is made by a duck: scan a real one, confirm by email, and you're in. The ducks are given away by hand at festivals, parties and meetups — you can't buy one and you can't order one. Find somebody holding one and ask them where they got it. Haven't got a duck yet? Read along anyway. The pond, the ducks and their journeys are open to anyone. FIND YOUR CREW At a festival, phones are useless exactly when you need them. Start a flock, share the code, and everyone lands on one map that turns into a radar as you close in — which way, how far. Drop a meeting pin, raise a flare, send an SOS that cuts through a muted phone. It keeps working when the signal doesn't.
