About

Eight hours at a desk, give or take. One short walk most days, at roughly the same time, does more about that than a gym membership you stop using in March. Two Feet and a Heartbeat is a stopwatch and a calendar. Press the button, go out for a while and come back. It counts the days you went. WHAT IT DOES Times what you did, and measures the distance with GPS or with the step counter, whichever the place you are in can actually measure. A walk round a shopping centre still counts. Keeps a streak of days and a weekly target of three. Reach the target and you earn a pass. A pass covers one day you missed, on its own, without being asked. Two missed days in a row is a streak ending, and that is what makes a streak worth having. Suggests a loop from where you are standing. It never waits for one: the walk starts on the tap and the map catches up behind you. Ten milestones. Get them as you go. Writes each one to Apple Health, if you turn that on. It only writes, and never reads your health data. A Lock Screen widget with the streak on it, and a Live Activity while you are out. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No account and no sign-in. No plan, no coaching, and no notifications beyond the one reminder a day if you choose. Nothing is uploaded: the history is on your phone and nowhere else. ABOUT THE NAME Two feet and a heartbeat is a figure of speech. It's the most basic mode of getting somewhere. The heartbeat is the part doing the work: the app times what you did and counts the days, and it has no opinion about how you got there. FREE One optional video, worth one pass, up to twice a day. No banners, nothing during a walk, and nothing on the history screen. It times what you did and counts the days. It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is advice about your health.Read more
