Lucid-Read

Lucid-Read helps children ages 5–16 move from reading words to understanding what they read. Each level pairs a short, engaging passage with one purposeful comprehension question. The reader is not just asked whether they finished. They practice a specific reading move: • finding a stated detail • understanding a word in context • making an inference from clues • identifying the main idea • finding evidence • recognizing an author’s purpose When an answer is missed, Lucid-Read offers a gentle clue from the passage and lets the reader try again. The goal is not to punish a miss. It is to show how a careful reader works something out. Readers move through 50 free levels with stories across fiction, nature, history, science, sports, community, and everyday life. Questions become more challenging as the levels progress. A first-try answer earns three stars; later successful tries earn encouragement too. After a level is complete, the next level is ready. Lucid-Read is built around a simple idea: understanding matters more than a minutes-read total or a pretend grade badge. The experience keeps the focus on the clue, the answer, and the comprehension move being practiced.
