Four Treasures of the Study is a writing desk, not a drawing app. Open it and the paper is already laid out with today's character, printed faintly in vermilion the way a copybook has been printed for centuries. Trace it. With Apple Pencil, press harder and the stroke thickens. With a finger, a slow stroke is the thick one. Move faster and the brush runs dry and leaves flying white. Then sign your work, press your seal, and take away something worth keeping. WRITE · A brush that behaves like a brush. On Apple Pencil, pressure, tilt and azimuth drive the tip. With a finger, slow is thick and fast is thin. The paper answers: raw xuan drinks the ink and blooms, sized xuan holds a crisp edge. · Wolf, goat and mixed hair, pine-soot and oil-soot ink, ten papers, the four famous inkstones. They are not filters; each one changes how the ink actually behaves. · Grind the ink yourself, add water a drop at a time, and watch the well thicken. · Undo, redo, and play your writing back at the speed you wrote it. TRACE · 42 sheets, starting with yong - the one character that contains all eight fundamental strokes - through single characters, couplets and lines from Wang Wei and Su Shi. Ten of them, plus the sheet of the day, are free. · Type a name or a line and the bundled kai shows a double-hook preview for free. Laying that sheet on the desk is part of the Complete Studio.
