About
You saw Japanese Walking online. Now do it right — without staring at a stopwatch. ShinshuCore guides you through the science-backed Shinshu protocol: 3 minutes fast, 3 minutes slow, 5 rounds, 4 sessions a week. Your phone stays in your pocket: sound, haptics and Dynamic Island tell you when to switch pace, while the app tracks your heart rate and steps. THE METHOD, NOT JUST A TIMER Interval Walking Training (IWT) was developed at Shinshu University by Dr. Hiroshi Nose. The structure is simple and it matters: three minutes of brisk walking, three minutes of easy walking, repeated five times. Thirty minutes, four times a week. ShinshuCore is built around that protocol — not a generic HIIT timer with walking labels on it. WHAT YOU GET • Guided 5×(3+3) sessions — the full protocol, timed for you • Voice and haptic cues at every pace change, so the phone never leaves your pocket • Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island — glance, don't unlock • Live heart rate during the walk • Steps, cadence and distance tracked automatically • Weekly goal built from the protocol: 4 sessions, 60 minutes of brisk walking • Full history of every session • Home Screen widget with your weekly progress • Seven languages YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS No account. No sign-up. No servers. Workouts are saved to Apple Health on your iPhone, and that is where they stay. You can export everything to CSV at any time and open it in any spreadsheet app, or hand it to whoever asked for it. BUILT FOR REAL WALKS Start the session, put the phone away, walk. The app handles the counting. If you pause, it waits. If your walk is interrupted, it picks up where you left off. WHO IT'S FOR People who want structured cardio without a gym, without equipment, and without a subscription. Beginners welcome — "fast" means fast for you, not for anyone else. Free. iOS 17 or later. ShinshuCore is a training timer, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice. Talk to your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.Read more
