BeanBrain is a revision app for iPhone built around one idea: you remember what you make yourself recall. Study properly Every card starts as a question. You try to answer it from memory, then reveal the answer and rate how it went. There is no passive flipping through cards and no daily quota. You decide how much to do and stop when you want. Review when it matters BeanBrain schedules each card using FSRS, an adaptive spaced-repetition algorithm. Cards you find easy come back less often; cards you struggle with come back sooner. Due dates are worked out from your own ratings, so the schedule follows how you are actually doing. Organise your material Build a library of Subjects, Decks and Cards, with Tags across them. Four card types are supported: recall, cloze, compare and application. You can record where a card came from, search and filter, reorder, archive or suspend, and merge tags. Focus on what needs work The Backlog gathers cards that need attention: ones you failed today, ones you have failed repeatedly, ones that are overdue, and questions you got wrong in a Mock Exam. It never pushes a card in front of its scheduled date; instead it points you at the card to review or repair. Mix related material Interleaving lets you practise several related decks or tags together in one session, so you learn to tell similar things apart rather than drilling them in isolation. Test yourself Build multiple-choice Mock Exams from your own decks, tags or cards. Sit them timed or untimed. Feedback is held back until you submit. A timed exam runs on real time and submits itself when the limit is reached. Mock Exam results are kept separate from your review schedule and never change it. See what is actually happening The Dashboard shows your revision streak, today's study time and accuracy, a 90-day review heatmap, a 30-day workload forecast, a Time Machine view of past due-versus-reviewed work, and a retention chart comparing predicted recall with actual results. Insights break performance down by deck and tag. Reminders, if you want them Optional local reminders tell you when reviews are due. They are off until you turn them on, and there is no reminder server. Private by design BeanBrain has no account and no BeanBrain server. Your study material stays on your device.
