You are leaving now. Train or car? Commute now compares the ways you could make the same trip and tells you which one gets you there first, and what each one costs. Set a trip up once. Where you start, where you need to be, and the ways you might take it: drive to one station, cycle to another, or drive the whole way and park. After that, open the app and it works the rest out for you. It reads live train times from iRail and traffic aware driving times from TomTom, so the answer is about the next hour rather than about a timetable. What it does Puts driving, cycling, walking and park and ride side by side, ranked by when you would actually arrive. Shows real departures, delays and platforms, and the next trains after the one you are aiming for. Works out the fare by the kilometre, including an off peak discount card and a cap per journey. Notices when you are already standing at the station, and stops charging you the time to walk there. Shows the trip home based on the way you came in the morning, because your car is where you left it. Lets you keep several trips and share one as a file, so a colleague can import the same setup. Before you start Driving times need a TomTom API key, which is free and takes a minute to create. The app asks for it on first launch and keeps it in the iPhone Keychain. Train times come from iRail and need no key at all. Commute now is built around Belgian rail. There is no account to make, nothing to sign up for, and no ads.
