Designed for those of us who are curious about the area nearby in multiple languages. At a glance, see the information that matters most while walking, riding a train, or in a car. View your location, heading, elevation, slope, date and time, sunrise and sunset, weather, nearby Wikipedia articles, and the currently playing Apple Music track. You may customize which information is displayed. SOURCES • Weather is provided by the Open-Meteo API and may differ from the weather shown in Apple’s Weather app. • Music information is retrieved using Apple’s MusicKit framework. Songs or podcasts that are unavailable through MusicKit cannot be displayed. • Nearby information is sourced from Wikipedia. You can choose which Wikipedia language edition to use and which language to view it in. • Translations use Apple’s built-in offline translation capabilities. Download the languages you want to use in advance. Translation accuracy may vary. WIKIPEDIA NOTES • Wikipedia Translations: the Wikipedia language edition as well as the language to display titles in are selectable. For example, you may view a list of nearby Wikipedia entries in the German or Japanese editions and have the titles displayed in English or another language. • A maximum of 50 Wikipedia articles within 10 km are returned. These maximums are changable in the sections menu. • The Wikipedia language editions supported are based on the languages you have downloaded to your device (see Translation notes). • When viewing a Wikipedia article, your default web browser is used and you may wish to configure it to use the browser's automatic translation capabilities. • Wikipedia is refreshed every 60 seconds and weather every 300 seconds to reduce system loads. • Nearby Wikipedia entries are found using Wikipedia geosearch. In some cases, entries may not be returned because of Wikipedia article metadata issues. TRANSLATION NOTES • Apple's offline translation engine is used which runs locally on your device (iPhone or iPad). • To use the offline translation, you must have the languages downloaded to your device. Use the "Apple Translate" app to download any language for _offline_ use. • The quality of translations can vary. INCLINE GRADE NOTES • Incline grade is only estimated after moving more than 50 meters. The grade is computed as the ratio of the vertical rise to the horizontal run, expressed as a percentage. Grade is vertical rise/horizontal move x 100. • It uses barometric pressure altitude rather than GPS elevation since barometric changes are often more accurate.
