Description
Chore apps usually fail for the same reason: nothing happens when a kid finishes something.
Oakward borrows the loop that keeps kids glued to their games and points it at the laundry basket. The dishes, the bins, the bedroom floor, all of it becomes a quest worth real XP and real gold. Your kids build a hero. You approve the work. Everybody stops arguing about the chore chart.
FOUR STEPS, ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES
1. Write the quests. Turn a chore into a quest in the Quest Workshop. Set the XP, the gold, and how often it repeats. Save the good ones to your library and reuse them forever.
2. Make the heroes. Each kid gets a hero with a class, a look, and a photo if they want one. Assign quests to one hero or to the whole roster at once.
3. They do the work. Kids see their own quest list on their own device, mark things done, and send them in. If the job genuinely is not happening, they can request a skip instead of lying about it.
4. You approve, it pays. Completions land in Approval Hall. Approve and the XP, gold, and streak credit hit instantly. Send it back and nothing does.
WHAT'S INSIDE
Approval Hall: Nothing is paid out until you say so. Approve, deny, or approve with no reward for a half-finished job. Every decision is written to a running ledger you can scroll back through.
Your own reward shop: Gold has to buy something, and you decide what. Screen time, a movie night, choosing dinner, a trip to the shop. Set your own prices, add your own photos, and let kids hold what they have bought in a backpack until they want to use it.
Streaks and the daily prize wheel: Finish a daily quest bundle and you bank a spin. Spins pile up, so a kid who has a great week gets to sit down on Saturday and burn through five at once. Freeze tokens mean a sick day does not wipe out a month.
The Family Vault: A shared pot with a shared goal on it. Kids deposit their own gold toward a family trip or a pizza night and earn family XP for doing it. Withdrawals come to you for approval by default. It quietly teaches saving without a single lecture about saving.
Health, potions, and gentle consequences: Heroes have health. Dock a little for the jobs that did not happen, then let a healing potion or a visit to the Hero Infirmary bring them back.
Boss battles: The occasional boss the whole house has to gang up on, so siblings have something to do together instead of compete over.
BUILT FOR REAL HOUSEHOLDS
- Local first. Quests, gold, and approvals live on the device, so the app stays quick and syncs the moment the connection comes back.
- One subscription covers the whole family, up to 20 devices.
- Parent Command sits behind a Parent PIN, with Face ID or Touch ID unlock if you want it.
- Kids get their own device with their own quest list and no access to yours.
- Photos stay on the device that added them. They are never uploaded to us.
- No ads. No analytics measuring what your family does. Anonymous crash reports only, and you can switch those off.
Everything about your children is entered by you, stays in your family's own area of our backend, and is never used for advertising or profiling.
