Receipts turns a drawer full of paper into something you can actually search. Point the camera at a receipt. It is read on your device — store, date, total, tax, and every line item — and filed before you have put your wallet away. FINDS WHAT YOU HALF REMEMBER Search everything the scanner saw, not just the store name. "Drill bits" turns up the hardware run from March even if you never tagged it, and each result tells you why it matched. Your receipts appear in Spotlight alongside everything else on your phone, and the Shortcuts app can find them by store, place, category, item, tag, amount, or date. Or just ask Siri to scan one, find one, or tell you what you spent. READY FOR THE RETURNS DESK The transaction barcode from the bottom of the receipt is kept and redrawn on screen, full width and full brightness, for the counter to scan. The original photo of the receipt is one tap away if they would rather see that, and the store's phone number is there too, in case the question is better asked before you drive over. TELLS YOU WHEN IT IS UNSURE A faded receipt that does not add up gets flagged instead of filed quietly. You are told exactly what failed to reconcile — the items summing to one number while the subtotal claims another — and you can correct it or wave it through. Every field is editable. Nothing the app reads is locked away from you, and a correction is never overwritten by a later guess. FILES ITSELF New receipts are sorted into categories on their own. Folders and tags handle the way you actually think about them, and Smart Folders keep a live query — everything reimbursable, everything over $100, every Costco run — that fills itself in as you scan. ON YOUR DEVICES, NOT OUR SERVERS Scanning and reading happen on your iPhone. Your receipts are never sent anywhere to be processed. Your library syncs through your own iCloud account to iPad and Mac, which means there is no Receipts account to make, because there is no Receipts server holding your receipts. TAKES IT WITH YOU CSV for a spreadsheet or an accountant. PDF when somebody wants to see the receipt itself. Both include everything, always. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
