Noirpad

NoirPad is a writing terminal that thinks it is 1978. Black screen, phosphor glow, scanlines rolling down the glass, and the clack of a typewriter under your fingers. Everything else gets out of the way so you can write. WRITING - Rich text with bold, italic, underline and strikethrough - Bullet and numbered lists, nested as deep as you like - Tables you can edit in a grid - Find and replace across the whole note - A symbol palette, one-tap timestamps, and word goals with a progress line - Live character, word and words-per-minute counters - Zen mode hides everything but the page LOOKS Pick any ink colour and the entire interface follows it. Phosphor tint bathes the panels in it; wire frame strips everything back to outlines on pure black. Then layer on the terminal: CRT scanlines, curved glass, chromatic split, phosphor bloom, a rolling hold bar, interlace, film grain, and occasional signal glitches that tear across the screen. WEATHER AND SCENES Blossom petals break off and drift down as you type. Or leaves, snow, rain, a thunderstorm with lightning and thunder, columns of falling katakana, or slow drifting embers. Behind the page sits a scene drawn one pixel at a time: a sakura tree that sways and sheds clumps into the wind, a detective at his typewriter with a storm raging outside the window, the Great Wave rolling past, a neon skyline under a huge moon, glinting snow drifts, or a lit cabin in a snowy pine forest. EXPORT ANYWHERE Save as .html or plain text. Export to Word, PDF, RTF, Markdown, JSON, CSV, or 72-column teletype. Capture the page as a PNG with the phosphor and scanlines baked in. Or copy straight to the clipboard as Markdown or plain text. MANY NOTES A drawer holds every note you have written, switched with a tap. Autosave runs constantly, so nothing is lost. ON EVERY SCREEN One app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. On the Mac it is a proper Mac app: real menu bar, real Open and Save panels, keyboard shortcuts throughout. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts. No analytics. No advertising. No network access of any kind — NoirPad cannot phone home because it never connects to anything. Your writing stays on your device unless you export it somewhere yourself.
