ARESYN is a Mars rover exploration game built from scratch for iPhone and iPad. You command MRV-7 Meridian, a six-wheeled science rover, across five regions of a procedurally generated Mars. FIVE REGIONS, GENERATED RATHER THAN DRAWN Ares Landing Basin, Crimson Canyon, Elysium Dunes, Olympus Frontier and Noctis Labyrinth. Every rock, dune and ridgeline is generated at runtime from a custom terrain system rather than placed by hand, so no two expeditions cross identical ground. Each region has its own geology, colour and hazards — the dunes will bog a rover that enters them too fast, and Noctis will drop a wheel into a fissure you failed to read. THE ROVER IS THE GAME The vehicle physics is an original implementation, not an off-the-shelf component: six independently loaded wheels, a suspension model with real travel and articulation, traction that changes with the surface under each wheel, and momentum that matters when you crest a rise carrying too much speed. ARYA, YOUR AUTONOMOUS COPILOT ARYA reads the terrain ahead, prices possible routes, avoids obstacles and drives to the objective. Hand over the controls on a long traverse and watch it work, or take them back the instant you disagree with its line. Upgrading ARYA lengthens its planning horizon and raises the speed it will commit to. SCIENCE, NOT SCENERY Sweep for geological returns, sample what you find, and fill a catalogue of 27 specimens across five rarity tiers — surface minerals, sedimentary layers, igneous cumulate, and buried deposits that only ground-penetrating radar will reveal. Thirty-eight hand-written missions run from a first checkout drive to long expeditions across the frontier. A DAY THAT ACTUALLY PASSES A Martian sol is 24 hours 39 minutes, compressed here into roughly half an hour of play. Drive into dusk and your work lights become the only thing between you and the terrain. Weather runs from clear through light dust and strong winds to full dust storms that change how Mars looks, drives and sounds. Power is finite: solar input, battery reserve, charging stations, and an emergency reserve you will be glad of exactly once. EVERY SOUND IS SYNTHESISED LIVE This app ships no audio files. The motor, the wheels on regolith, thin-atmosphere wind, instrument tones and the ambient bed are all generated in real time from the rover's own telemetry — so the drivetrain answers to load, and the surface under the wheels changes what you hear.
