MeroKharcha is a zero-based budget for people who are tired of guessing where their money went.
Zero-based means every rupee gets a job before it is spent. Money arrives, you give all of it to something — rent, dal bhat, the bike service you keep putting off — and what is left to assign reads zero. Nothing is unaccounted for, so nothing quietly disappears.
WHAT YOU GET
• A monthly budget with Ready to Assign at the top, so you always know whether this month is fully planned
• Accounts for cash, bank, wallets and credit cards, with real balances
• Transactions with payees, notes, and splits across several categories
• Transfers between your own accounts, matched up rather than double-counted
• Loans tracked as what they are: a balance and the payments against it, with you deciding each principal and interest split
• Reconciliation, for the day the app and the bank disagree
• Reports: spending by category, net worth month over month
STATEMENT IMPORT
Point it at a PDF, XLS or CSV from your bank, eSewa or Khalti. It works out which column is the date, which is the amount, and which way round the signs go. You review every row before anything is saved, and it flags rows that would duplicate transactions you already have. Once you confirm a layout, it is remembered for the next statement from the same bank.

BUILT IN RUPEES
Nepali rupees are the default, not an afterthought, and any other currency works just as well. No conversion, no US-centric assumptions about how a month is supposed to look.
WORKS WITH CHATGPT AND CLAUDE
Add Kharcha as a connector and ask an assistant to read your budget, or to file a transaction for you. It only ever writes when you say so.
YOUR DATA
No bank login, ever. Kharcha cannot reach your accounts and cannot move money — it reads statements you hand it. Statement files are not stored; only the rows you choose to import. No advertising, no trackers, and nothing sold to anyone.
