SCEPI

SCEPI (Smartphone-based Collection of Epidemiological Information) lets you take part in epidemiological research studies directly from your phone. Researchers use SCEPI to send you questionnaires, share study information, and stay in touch with you throughout the course of an epidemiological study. You fill in these questionnaires at your own pace, having full control of your data at all times, with guaranteed anonymity. Your participation is valuable and helps researchers understand new things about science and health. You join a study by scanning its QR code (or entering its URL), which you get from the researchers (who will be affiliated with European University Cyprus). You log in to the SCEPI app using one-time passwords (OTPs) sent to your email, but your email is NEVER shared with the researchers or anyone else. You remain anonymous, and you can instantly withdraw your consent to participate in a study (including deleting your data) at the click of a button. As a result, the SCEPI app is fully GDPR-compliant, including the right to data portability and the right to be forgotten. You can trust this app! And of course we never show you ads or use your data for any commercial purpose. Other than filling in study questionnaires, the SCEPI app also enables you to send anonymous messages to study researchers if you want to ask anything, and to share study QR codes with other potentially eligible participants. It therefore facilitates a new paradigm of participatory epidemiological research, and we are grateful to you if you'd be part of it.
