ENGRAI

ENGRAI is a native iOS client for AI-driven character conversations (we call them ENGRAIs). No account, no server, no subscription. Your ENGRAIs, personas, and conversations live on your device and stay there. You bring your own API key from the AI provider you already use: OpenAI-compatible, Anthropic, Google, and including an option for a model running on your own machine or local home server (localhost). Messages go directly from your device to the endpoint you chose. ENGRAI has no backend and never receives them. ENGRAI aims to simplify the complexity of local large language models and setting them up by being an interface that does the technical abstract work under the hood - so that you can plug and use with ease. - NATIVE FLUIDITY: Written in SwiftUI for iOS 26. Long conversations stay smooth, scrolling stays fast, and your battery survives the afternoon. No embedded browser, no web wrapper. - ADAPTIVE IDENTITIES: Define an ENGRAI across identity, appearance, and a detailed behavioral profile — how they plan, how they handle stress, how they treat people above and below them, and how that shifts as pressure accumulates. Characters hold their shape instead of dissolving into the same agreeable voice after twenty messages. - RELATIONAL DYNAMISM: ENGRAIs track how they feel about you, and about each other. Group scenes model who knows what, who is present, and what they think of the person across the room. - WORLD BUILDING DONE RIGHT: ENGRAI allows you to author worlds as your sandbox. Every chaotic moment, recalled event, or in-scene conversation has a backdrop the session members stay consistent and grounded to. You own the quill and the ink. We provide the sheet. - MEMORIES ACROSS TIME: An automatic summarizer distills what matters from long conversations — commitments, revealed facts, shifts in a relationship — and carries it forward, while letting routine chatter fall away. - ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES: Multiple personas, color themes, and typefaces. Complete control over the model, its sampling parameters, and the endpoint it runs on, including a raw parameter field for anything your provider accepts. - PRIVACY VALUED: No accounts. No analytics. No developer server. Nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. Your API key stays in your device keychain. Point ENGRAI at a local model and nothing leaves your network at all. ENGRAI is free. No subscription, no paid tier, and no advertising. The app is created by an indie hobbyist for the user in mind. REQUIREMENTS ENGRAI does not include an AI model and does not provide one. You need your own API key from a third-party AI provider, or your own locally hosted model. You are responsible for any usage costs that the provider charges you, and your use of their service is governed by their terms. ENGRAI is intended for adults aged 18 and over. You are responsible for the content you generate and for complying with the policies of the provider you connect to.
