When a road is closed, or scheduled to close, for avalanche-control work, you're notified right away and can see exactly where and when. IMPORTANT Controlled Avalanche Alerts is an unofficial convenience tool. Alerts may be delayed, incomplete, or missed, and push delivery is not guaranteed. Coverage is limited to participating state highway programs — it does not include ski resorts, backcountry terrain, or every road. Never rely on this app for safety-critical decisions.
