Meet Hue, a little blob of color with a face. Hue is the color to match. A few chips sit below it: tap the one that is its exact twin, and Hue swallows it and grins. The first round is easy: dark blue against lime green. Then the shades creep closer. A few rounds in, the chips differ by a shade you have to lean in for. Twenty in a row, and you are telling apart colors most people call identical. How far can you go? EVERY SCREEN TAKES THE COLOR The whole screen tints to the color you are matching, and washes to the next one as you play. Hue breathes, blinks and reacts: delighted on a match, surprised when you pick the closest decoy, a little wince when you miss. THE DAILY A new Daily every day, the same colors for everyone in the world. One try. When it ends, share it: a card with your streak on the last color you matched, or a row of colored squares that shows how hard each round was and never gives the colors away. EVERY TEN IN A ROW IS WORTH A CARD Hit 10, 20, 30 in a row and Hue celebrates, with a share card ready in one tap. CLASSIC Match until you miss. Three chips at first, then four, six and finally nine, while the difference between them shrinks round after round. Your best run and your finest match are saved. RUSH Sixty seconds on the clock. Every match climbs a step; every miss costs three seconds and drops you back two. Every fifth match in a row gives two seconds back. ZEN No streak, no clock, no ads between rounds. A sleepy Hue, rounds that get harder when you are right and easier when you are not, settling on the smallest difference you can spot most of the time. WHAT THE NUMBER MEANS Every chip shows its ΔE after you pick. ΔE is how different two colors look to the eye: above 10 is obvious, under 2 is very hard. Your finest ΔE is the number to beat. A STREAK THAT FORGIVES Play the Daily on consecutive days to build a streak. Every seventh day earns a streak freeze that covers a missed day on its own, and you can hold two.
