MAPinPinP - Floating Map PiP

MAPinPinP shows the map around your current location in a Picture in Picture (PiP) window. There is no destination to search for and no route to start. Turn the map into a small window and check where you are while you use other apps. [How it works] 1. Open the app. The map centers on your current location. 2. Tap "Show in PiP". 3. Switch to another app. The map stays on screen as a small window and keeps up with your movement. [When it helps] • Driving a road you already know, or checking where you are as a passenger • Riding a train or bus and wondering which area you are passing • Cycling or walking without a set destination • Using Safari, messaging, music, video or games at the same time [Inside the window] • The window shows your position marker and your direction of travel. • Tap the window and use the skip buttons to zoom in (closer) or out (wider). • Choose between "direction of travel up" and "north up". • Resize the window with the usual iOS gestures. [Map] • The map is Apple Maps. • Three zoom levels: close, standard and wide. • Light and dark appearance. [Without a purchase] • The window can stay on screen for 10 minutes a day. The allowance resets at midnight. • Watching a video ad inside the app adds 10 minutes to today's allowance. There is no limit on how many times. • When the time is used up, the window switches to a notice that today's 10 minutes are over. The window does not close. • Ads consist of one banner at the bottom of the screen and video ads you choose to watch. There are no full-screen ads. Pro also removes the banner. [What this app does not do] • No destination search, no turn-by-turn directions, no voice guidance. • No travel history is stored. Location data is never sent anywhere. • No account is required. [Location] • The app works with the "While Using the App" location permission. While the window is on screen, the app keeps receiving location updates in the background so the map can follow you. Closing the window stops background updates. • Background location use increases battery consumption while the window is shown for a long time. [Please note] • iOS shows only one Picture in Picture window at a time. If a video app starts its own PiP, the map window is replaced. • Position accuracy depends on the device's GPS.
