Log the variables that matter — grind setting, dose, temperature, ratio, extraction time — and a rating out of five. After a few brews on the same bag, the dial-in grid does the work: grind setting on one axis, ratio on the other, each brew coloured by result. Green means you found it. Red means you did not. The winning recipe sits pinned at the top. Next bag arrives. You open the grid. You start from the good result. Works for espresso and all filter methods — V60, AeroPress, Chemex, Moka, French press. Each method shows only the variables relevant to it. The built-in timer runs while you brew and fills the time field when you stop it. Tasting note chips handle the vocabulary. One optional sentence at the end if something is worth noting. The bean collection tracks freshness since roast.
