About

Changes in bowel habit are common, and easy to forget by the time you are sitting in front of a doctor. Haustra is somewhere to write them down. Logging takes two taps. Pick one of the seven Bristol types — the official wording sits beside each illustration, so the choice is precise — and save. Straining, a sense of incomplete emptying, a different time and a note are all optional, and they come after you have saved, never before. It is built to be quick in the one place you will actually use it. A widget on the Home Screen or the Lock Screen shows days since your last entry, with seven dots for the week — filled on the days you logged. It never shows a type. A Control Center button opens logging directly. The overview answers the two things a doctor asks first: how often, and what it looked like. Swipe between the last 7, 30 and 90 days. The statistics tab lets you pick your own date range and see how the pattern moved over time. Before an appointment, export a PDF for the period you pick — the last 30 or 90 days, everything, or dates you set yourself. It lists every entry, and writes out the number each figure rests on. You can put a name on the document — the name goes into the PDF and is never saved on your phone. Discretion is part of the design. There is a Face ID lock, the widget never shows what you logged, and the app draws no attention to itself on your home screen. Haustra does not interpret your entries. It counts them and shows you the counts. It does not tell you what they mean, it does not flag anything as unusual, and it gives no advice. A separate information page explains when to contact a doctor. That page is the same for everyone and never changes based on what you log. Your entries stay on your phone. There is no account and no sign-in, nothing is uploaded, and the app has no analytics. The only thing that ever leaves the device is the PDF, and only when you choose to send it. You can erase the whole log from settings whenever you want.Read more
