Affiant: Proof of Service

Affiant is built for California's new service-of-process law, AB 747, which takes effect January 1, 2027. Every proof of service must include a photo of the service location with a readable stamp that automatically records the date, time, and GPS coordinates, including photos of unsuccessful attempts. Affiant makes that the easy part of your day. REASONABLE DILIGENCE • A meter tracks the new rule: 3 attempts, on 3 different days, at 3 different times of day. • Consumer debt and residential eviction cases also require an attempt at the dwelling. Affiant checks that too. • Substituted service mailing: only the three methods the law now allows, with the date service becomes complete. PROOF OF SERVICE, DONE FOR YOU • Fills in the Judicial Council's POS-010 Proof of Service of Summons and the new POS-012 Declaration of Diligence, one per server, with attachments for extra attempts and long explanations. • Photo exhibits, each labeled with the form item it supports, with PDF bookmarks. • Optional blurring of faces and license plates on the copies you file. House and unit numbers stay visible. RECORDS THAT HOLD UP New CCP § 473.2 lets a defendant challenge service, putting the burden on the plaintiff to prove it. Affiant is built for that moment: • Each attempt is signed by a key held in your iPhone's Secure Enclave and chained to the one before it, so any edit, deletion, or reordering shows. • Each record gets an independent trusted timestamp (RFC 3161), so the time doesn't depend on your phone's clock. • Apple App Attest confirms records came from a genuine copy of Affiant. • Export an evidence bundle with the original photos, signatures, and timestamps, plus a script that anyone can use to verify it with OpenSSL. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your jobs and photos stay on your iPhone. There's no account and no DK4G server. Only short cryptographic fingerprints are sent out to be timestamped.
